Learny AI is a VDS 2026 Top 50 startup finalist
On July 15, 2026, VDS published its official Top 50 selection for the VDS Startup Competition 2026, and Learny AI is included in the list. The organizers say this year's competition received 1,560 applications from 87 countries.
Fifty places from 1,560 applications represent approximately 3.2%. That percentage is our direct calculation from the figures published by VDS, not a separate acceptance rate stated by the organizers.
How the selection was evaluated
VDS says the evaluation process was led by Plug and Play and considered innovation, scalability, market opportunity, growth potential, and impact. Assessment across several dimensions makes the selection relevant beyond any single product feature or technology trend.
VDS has not published the judges' individual reasons for selecting Learny. Our interpretation is that Learny's combination of AI, education, an early product, an international audience, and a voice-led learning companion aligns with the competition's stated criteria. This is Learny's reading of the result, not a quotation or endorsement from the judges.
Top 50 finalist and Top 25 are different stages
The dedicated VDS finalists page describes the selected companies as “Top 50 Startup Finalists.” The official Top 50 announcement separately explains that a later selection will identify the Top 25 startups invited to pitch on the main stage.
Learny can therefore accurately celebrate being a VDS 2026 Top 50 startup finalist. It should not be presented as a Top 25 or main-stage selection unless VDS announces that separate result.
Why this milestone matters to Learny
For our team, the finalist milestone is an important external signal that the problem we are working on deserves attention: making AI-assisted learning more personal, engaging, and useful for families.
It also raises the standard for what comes next. We will keep developing the early-access product, listening to families, and building the evidence, reliability, and safeguards a responsible learning product needs.
